I agree. It was such a unique backdrop, I tried to take advantage of every aspect I could.

Makes two of us. When the first movie came out, I saw it opening night, and then again at noon the following day. Same thing for the sequel. ;)

somehow the industrial background is perfect for this car. looks right here, would look out of place in front of mansion or some quiet woods.

I agree. That's why I spend a great amount of time scouting for the best possible location for each car I shoot.

Where did you find this warehouse, how does the car speed up in such tiny place ?

The space belongs to another client of mine. The motion shots are a bit of trickery; we weren't going over 5mph.

I'm curious- how do you find the settings for your shoots? Do you always choose where to shoot or...?

Locations are always my doing. I scout for locations in advance, searching for areas specifically for the car in mind.

are u renting those cars, or u ask the owners or are this commercial work?

u are testriding them? :D

:iconnotbland:
notbland Featured By Owner Jun 18, 2009  Professional Photographer
Not renting. 99% of the time, they're privately owned and the owner agrees to my proposal of a private exclusive photoshoot with their car. I haven't done any commercial work yet, but this series was shot for the New Orleans newspaper's Automotive Section.

I don't test drive them, as they're not my cars. I have driven a few with the owner's insistence, but more often than not, I'd rather just shoot them.

The best looking American car ever made. On that note, I would even like to buy it! The cars lines and proportions really stand out in this angle. What a car..

I think I'll have to visit large warehouses and browse through them on a regular basis. Maybe I'll find a cool car there. Preferably, with keys and documents.

Large home appliance. The boxes on the right are stoves, the white ones on the left are refrigerators.

I'm not one to praise US car manufacturers often, but they've done a fabulous job with the design of this car.

Great pics, I think you're entirely responsible for me being more than a little obsessed with this car. ;)

I would have liked this a lot more if it was framed differently... or if the car was rolled back 1/2-full car length with this framing.

:iconnotbland:
notbland Featured By Owner Jun 17, 2009  Professional Photographer
Well, it was framed differently; this is a close crop. The original might have been a slightly better composition, but the details of the car were all but lost. Had to make it bigger.
