Thats what I thought. But literally every large automobile company does this. the 51k comes with just the bare stock version. Nothing special, and it cannot go that fast. To get the guts and glory, with better steering, electric power terrain, it can go all the way up to 110k
Anybody can say that they do this but it's a matter of pulling it off. It's already plenty fast when you look at the comparisons. A few more grand and you can get the Z51 package that's got all the biggest performance options (limited slip, dry sump, bigger brakes, extra cooling, etc.) available for the car it's not that much.
110k doesn't sound realistic the upcoming Z06 is cheaper than that and faster than the last ZR1. I'm not even sure if you can option a Boxter/Cayman up that much and Porsche's actually famous for it.
