Really, that's the way to do it.
I LOVE it.
Really, I do. Mix of textures and it looks like there were layers of different materials. Even looks like a rough metallic surface.

I can actually break it down for you. Bottom layer is fender, layer up is the body, layer up is the canvas roof, layer up is the plastic side window.
