2009 Dodge Viper ACR.
The Mojave Desert. January 31, 2011.

Probably not self-explanatory, actually. I don't own the car; we were literally on top of a mine.

No HDR, but PLENTY of post work. That's where all my work comes to life.

Also, I really like the lights being on. Very smart photography, sir. Without them being on, the rear end would lose definition and very necessary details. Super win.

You're working at 'unusual times' I just noticed, considering the wonderful lightning at this particular series. Just love it, nice scenery and the car looks like to be home there... What surprises me most of all is the time in which the series is taken. Compared the times displayed at the camera data section and it's all done in about an hour or so, if that's the correct information anyway... Should take me ( and many of us ) hours to do it and it won't be even close to this.. and I'm afraid it's dark as well if I eventually get there, haha!

Well, if you refer to the description of the last photo in the session, I go into detail about how the shoot came about. Specifically, "...on my last day, I called it a wrap on the SRT8 & R/T photoshoot with about 45 minutes of sunlight left <we unloaded the Viper>".

I only had about 40 minutes with the car; there was a lot of scrambling around with my tripod as the sun sank lower. :P

Yeah, I did read that when I saw it for the first time and I liked it :). It's amazing how fast you did it.. a beast like this just doesn't belong on a trailer and deserves his own series. How mad would it have been if this has a pull hook and a trailer with that big R/T or SRT8 on it. Completely bonkers and pointless but I'm glad you guys decided to unload it in the end anyway. The result is real good and I am, just like you, excited to see what your colleagues produced that day as well!

Bland, I always find your work unbeliveble. But now this is the apotheosis, there is something unconventional in this viper series, I would even say unrealistic. We feel like in a movie, you were able to place perfectly the subject in it's context and in addition, you allow people to imagine any kind of stories with that. I have only one thing to tell you; Don't stop to make me dream as well!

Wait... I read through that twice now and I still can't tell if you enjoy/disagree with the series? Haha, I need clarification. :(

You have to take it to the bright side, I TOTALLY enjoy this series! I like the fact that it stimulates our imagination.

Let me explain! I think you constantly push the automotive photography to another level. Throughout this series, I can't only say "wow that's a beautiful car", but rather "wow, where is that beautiful car and what is going on next?". That's seems maybe too philosophic but I wanted to share it with you. Probably the post-apocalyptic salt landscape helps to gives the scene a surrealistic look.

Keep up the good work!

Oh man, the lights glowing on that black backside, and the same in the natural version as the sun peeps between the posts... I'm so touched by how good it looks, I think I'll cry in any minute! :crying:

Haha, yeah, I've been secretly developing some pretty nifty techniques to exploit natural light in the past couple months. Finally got to test it all out on this series. Glad you like it!

Well, it's not HDR; I never use the method in my work. So, by the process of elimination... :)
